Finding the Perfect Prenatals: Beli

Finding the Perfect Prenatals: Beli

Finding the Perfect Prenatals: Beli

I have been taking prenatal vitamins for six years. I started taking them in 2015, when we started trying to have our first child, and we had no idea what journey lay ahead. In 2017, we welcomed our first son, a miracle baby possible because of IVF and much more, but I did not stop taking my prenatals even after he was born. I knew we wanted more children, so I kept taking them. I took prenatals throughout years of trying to get pregnant, through miscarriages, through hardships. Even after I thought I could not get pregnant again myself, I kept taking them – it was a habit, and I know prenatals have a lot of wonderful essentials for women in general.

But not every prenatal vitamin is made equally. If you have been trying to have a baby for a while (or even not a while), you know one of the most basic things you do is take a prenatal. It seems like a simple decision, but since we take so much care to everything else that goes in our body when we are trying to get pregnant, and when we hopefully become and stay pregnant – prenatals are essential as well.

I have done a lot of research myself, and looked into a lot of different options, and my favorite prenatal company is Beli. There are so many vitamin companies out there, but finding a personal company, with fantastic customer service, and a product you can trust – what more can you ask for? For my own body, and for my baby’s – that’s all I need.

In addition to trust, there’s the science to the vitamin as well – what goes into it. One of the key ingredients is called choline, which is important because it helps your baby’s brain and spinal cord develop properly and may protect your baby against neural tube defects, but it is often overlooked when developing prenatals. Beli is one of the only prenatals that meets guidelines not just for specific ingredients, but for the recommended amounts of those ingredients. Personally, I was surprised by this. I had naively assumed that every prenatal out there had everything I needed for myself, and my baby – but I was wrong. As many of you can understand, I have learned through years of infertility that I cannot make these types of assumptions, so I did my research, and I am so glad I did. It is so important to choose carefully when trying to conceive, and when pregnant, and I have done that research for you here! I absolutely recommend checking out their website so you can see for yourself!

Another part of prenatals that can be difficult for people is the taste, as well as the effect they can have on the stomach. I have personally tried some in the past that were chalky, had a horrible aftertaste, or just made me feel sick – and that is the last thing you want when you are trying to conceive or pregnant. The hormones included with fertility treatments and pregnancy are already enough to make your stomach on edge, so it was important to me to also find a vitamin that settled well, and went down easily – and I found that with Beli also. I can tell you from personal experience, and from looking at exactly what goes into it, that this is the right prenatal vitamin for me.

I also love that they make a men’s vitamin, which is designed with nutrients for reproductive and sperm health. Beli was actually one of the very first companies to introduce the idea of a men’s prenatal, because the founders know that fertility stems from men and women, and they take both into consideration. They take reproductive health seriously, and that was very important to me when choosing a vitamin.

Throughout my infertility journey, I have done a lot of crazy things to try to make everything come together. I have looked up countless ideas and tried everything I could to feel like I had control. During many of my treatments, I drank pomegranate juice daily, brazil nuts, beetroot juice (which tastes like dirt), and changed my diet habits to try to optimize my health. I tried exercising aggressively, exercising lightly, and not exercising at all. I have seen a total of four different fertility doctors, and they tried so many different things. And in the end, I know I did not have control over a lot of it – but I do have control over my vitamins each day. I take a prescription pill every morning for my Hashimoto’s Disease, and my vitamins at night for my overall health – and my prenatal has been a staple in my pill box for many years.

Now that I am expecting our third child – our little miracle we were told would never be possible – I am continuing to take my health seriously, but I am not experimenting anymore. I am taking a prenatal I trust, and a few extra vitamins and medications that my doctor has told me to take for my specific health needs. In terms of my diet, I make sure I’m taking things seriously for what I can and cannot have, but I have chocolate daily of course too! I exercise about three or four times a week, and try to move every day. Overall, everything I am doing feels manageable, and I know I am taking the best care of myself and our baby.

I’m very happy I found a good prenatal, and if you want to learn more about this company, they have their FAQ page on their website here: Beli Baby FAQ. They are also very generous to give all of my readers and followers 15% off, with my personal code: ALEX15 – so make sure to check them out today!
