Happy Monday Glamour Girls! Wishing you a wonderfully productive week! As I write this, it’s hot and humid here in Baltimore. Hard to believe that a month or so ago, I was complaining about having to wear wool socks. So glad the cold weather is long gone as I enjoy summer so much. The hotter the better!
Oh, and did I mention I this week’s makeover is pretty hot?
I found these chairs at one of my favorite new spots, Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore. There are several fairly close to Baltimore and I do my best to visit at least two of them during any given week. Summertime is for exploring, after all. Not only do they carry furniture but also building materials which is both cool and helpful when your house is in a constant state of renovation.
It’s funny, because on this particular trip, Ana was off from work and wanted to hang with her mom for the day. For any of you that have young adults, you know these moments are fleeting so you snatch them whenever they present themselves. Well we went from store to store, picked up paint for another project, visited the Goodwill, and if I recall correctly, she even suckered me into buying her a coat and a few other things. Anywho, we went to the ReStore, I selected these chairs and she looks at me like I’m crazy. Really Ma? Those? Yes Child, those. Just wait and see . . .
And so I’ve been sitting on them for a minute now, unable to figure out exactly what I wanted them to look like. I knew I wanted to paint the wood and have a nice pop of color. I visited several fabric stores until I finally came across this print at Joanne’s. So whimsical, I fell in love with it instantly.
But, remember I said I wanted a pop of color? I thought it would be found in the fabric, but hey, chalk that up as my surprise for this project. I was thinking a nice orange would be nice, but the orange & black had me thinking Halloween, so I reconsidered and finally settled on Sherwin Williams’ Exuberant Pink. The color and its name were both perfect.
And this is the finished product x2. Needless to say, Ana could hardly believe they were the same chairs. Both she and Chrissy have placed orders, lol. I think Ana said it best, “I feel like I don’t have to buy anything anymore, I can just show you what I want or like and you can make it.” Mommy’s trying, lol.
So how do you like them? Leave me a comment and let me know what you think!
