Greetings Glam Gals! I’m feeling exceptionally glamorous today, and it’s due in part to this week’s find.
On a whim, I decided to take a ride with The Man to Havre de Grace. He had an early morning appointment down there, so I figured why not ride shotgun. About 30 minutes from Baltimore, it’s a waterfront town, situated right on the banks of the Susquehanna River. Home to several park and museums, there are also numerous antique stores in the area, and if nothing else, the view from the promenade is worth the short drive.
I can’t begin to tell you how hard it was to pull myself from my perch. So peaceful and serene. But, there was work to be done. Although we visit Havre de Grace fairly often, I had never visited the antique shops, so I was excited about the possibilities. Well they didn’t disappoint. Bayside Antiques was my favorite. The sign outside advertised vintage postcards, but inside there was everything from vintage furniture and jewelry to gowns and decoys. Havre de Grace is known for its decoys, by the way. Anywho, it was in Bayside we spied this beauty.
Okay, to be honest, The Man spied it. Again, when I go thrifting I almost always have a one-track mind, and never would I have thought to look at the lighting. Who repurposes or refinishes that? Apparently my hubby would like to, so yep, we bought it. I’m so glad we did, as it allows me to truly understand just how far we can take this little niche, not to mention how gorgeous it is. Every glam gal needs a little bling around the house, and this is the perfect piece for a small entryway, closet or powder room.
A little research suggests this might be a vintage crystal bag chandelier. In definite need of polishing, the base is either brass or brass coated. All of the crystal beads are intact and I think the only one missing might go at the very bottom. My pictures do it very little justice, but I promise to get better as we continue this journey!
So what do you think? Did I do good this week? Have any glam finds you’d like to share? I’d love to see them. Just use #thriftingwithpaige
Till Next Time!
