Happy Thursday Glamour Girls!
Welcome to Thrifting with Paige where every Thursday I’ll share with you my finds over the the past week. Not a week goes by without me hunting for my next piece to makeover. Sometimes it’s Craigslist where I can “shop” from the comforts of my couch, other times it’s a Friday after work when instead of making that left to go home, I make the right and hit The Goodwill. And for the record, it is not beneath me to stop the pickup truck on his way to the junkyard. A deal is a deal ladies, and I find some beautiful things in the most surprising places. This week’s find is a perfect example.
I couldn’t believe when I found this antique Victorian sofa in a local goodwill. Although the tag says “As Is,” I can assure you this piece was for display only in someone’s home and any damage was probably incurred transporting it to the goodwill. The price you ask? Unbelievable. Totally worth every dollar they were asking which is why it was so hard to walk away. Girls, it was calling my name. I mean look at it. Am I the only one picturing a boudoir photo shoot? And if I am, isn’t it a great idea? The only reason this isn’t sitting in my empty living room is because as it stands my upholstering skills are in their beginning phase. But even now as I write this I’m thinking if it’s still there I just might go get it and wait until my skills catch up. I mean really? What’s not to love. As is, it’s beautiful, but imagine this . . .
This beauty, brought back to life by Molly Andrews and her team at Chairloom is breathtaking.
Almost an exact replica of my find, the update to this sofa ensures it remains a family heirloom and not the family eyesore.
Well Girls, that’s my find for this week. Here’s hoping next week’s finds are just as Glamorous!
