Saturday mornings around our house are usually quiet and reserved for some much needed “me” time. Sometimes I clean, I might go to a yoga class, but lately it’s been kickboxing. I know, total opposite end of the spectrum, but it’s fun, I go with my cousins, so what’s not to love? But not this morning. On this morning I skipped kickboxing, excited about our new project;
installing new baseboards in the kitchen. Recall we finally have the right tools, and now there’s nothing in our way, right? WRONG!
One must remember that when one lives in a century old house, there’s no such thing as easy. All I wanted to do was replace the baseboards. Who knew Kevin would insist on starting in the mudroom which has a closet. Who knew prior to replacing the baseboards you had to replace the trim around the doors. Who knew that although some claim a circular saw is all you need, a table saw is really most appropriate. Are you noticing a trend? I sure did.
For every step forward, it seemed we took two backwards. My plan to just jump in was quickly derailed, but after 4 hours, several trips to Home Depot, and a battle with the circular saw I’m fairly certain Kevin lost we have baseboards and door trim . . . in the mudroom.
