So as I’ve mentioned, our first project is installation of baseboards and crown molding in the kitchen. Initially, we thought we could use a miter box and saw for this; BIG MISTAKE! In fact, I have to laugh at our ignorance. Even if the boards did fit, we’d surely lose an arm midway thru just from the physical labor involved. As soon as we got it home we knew it wouldn’t work but we weren’t sure exactly what would. A researcher by nature, I perused the internet in search of recommendations and honestly, that just confused me further. Miter saw, compound miter saw, rotating saw, none of it meant anything to me, so when in doubt, call an expert; or at least someone who knows more than you. Lucky for us, Kevin’s brother is a contractor in Philly. According to him, we could use the circular saw we already had, but what he did suggest we invest in was a nail gun with compressor. And this is where Christmas comes to town!
Behold our Porter-Cable Air Compressor with a finish nailer, brad nailer and staple gun. In my mind, I just wrote my name in nails on a wall. Yeah, take that! Have I ever used one before? Nope. Am I excited? Yep! Not only can we do the baseboards, crown and trim with this, but it should also be a great help when I want to reupholster the chairs I’ve had sitting in the living room for months . . . The compressor isn’t that heavy either ladies, so have no fear. I’m not going hog wild or anything because I’ve yet to put it to use, but the possibilities are endless!
